There are many exciting partnerships successfully operating between individuals, research groups and specialties throughout the University, SUHT and local community, and across wider networks. However, the potential to develop still more stimulating and beneficial collaborations is enormous, and may be found in the most unexpected of areas.

There is a clear trend in the awarding of central funds in favour of collaborative projects, both geographic and inter-disciplinary. To put it simply, winning grant funding is increasingly dependent on thinking "outside the box".
