Courses
The HRU offers a one-week immunomethods course during June. This is a practical course with supporting lectures that focuses on the use of resin embedded samples for immunohistochemistry. During the course participants will gain experience in tissue processing and embedding into glycol methacrylate resin, section preparation, immunohistochemical staining, and interpretation and analysis of stained sections. There will also be seminars of current research being conducted in the Unit, and lectures on other analysis techniques including FACS, in situ hybridisation, PCR, electron and confocal microscopy.
In 2011 the course will run from 13-17 June 2011 are now available together with the application form - deadline for application is 27 May 2011.
The HRU also offers short two-day courses on immunohistochemistry for both paraffin and resin embedded samples for post-graduate and project students. These courses focus solely on immunohistochemical staining and are part of the post-graduate induction program within the Division of Infection, Inflammation and Immunity.
