Elizabeth Ann Rumsby Origins Suffolk Trip 2002 The Fatal Quarrel Back

In the Summer of 2002 I visited my father in Norfolk and on the way home I couldn't resist visiting a few of the villages which crop up so often in the records.  Remarkably, despite a six-hour drive, the kids were remarkably well-behaved and I was lucky enough to drive from Hoxne to Thorington along the routes our ancestors must have known so well.  Unfortunately I only had half a roll of film left but I have promised myself a return journey with the digicam Santa brought me for Christmas!

The road between Fressingfield and Cratfield.  A house named "Rumsbys Corner" stood somewhere along this road in the 1881 census.  The tower of Cratfield church is a tiny speck on the horizon.
